Mission Statement

"The mission of the Office of Research and Biotechnology (ORB) is to assist all components of the Health Science Center in identifying research opportunities, securing support, and conducting research.  The office functions in pre- and post-award activities of sponsored studies including basic and clinical sciences, public health, outcome assessments, educational, and other research.  The office oversees issues relating to intellectual property, technology transfer, and interfacing of the Institution with the external research and biotechnology community. The ORB assures compliance with all international, federal, state, and private regulations relating to research."
